Friday Men's League

Friday Afternoon Men's League at Falcon Lakes - Presented by Citizen's Bank, N.A.

The Golf Club at Falcon Lakes will be hosting the Friday Afternoon 18-hole Men's League presented by Citizen's Bank, N.A. League play will begin on April 19th, 2013. Tee times will begin at 2:30 each Friday. Competition will continue into September.  The 36 hole League Championship is tentatively scheduled for September 21 and 22. The top 24 players that have played a minimum of 5 rounds will qualify for this event.

A league participant does not need to participate every week. Each week there will be points distributed based on where you place that week. These points will be accumulated throughout the year and will decide who makes the League Championship.

Entry fee each week is $47 ($10 for 2013 Annual Pass Holders). This fee includes your green fee with cart and range balls. In addition, $10 of the $47 will be placed in a prize pool to be distributed in the form of golf shop credit.

Closest to the Pin
Each week there will be a closest to the pin contest on all four par 3's.  Each winner will receive one sleeve of Titleist Pro V1 golf balls.

Scoring
Scoring
Double Eagle 16 points
Eagle 8 points
Birdie 4 points
Par 2 points
Bogey 1 point
Double Bogey or greater  0 points
The league format will be a quota scoring system. Your quota will be a rolling average of all your quota totals. Your initial quota is established by subtracting your GHIN handicap from 36.

For example: If a golfer has a handicap of 12 their initial quota would be 24 (36-12=24). If a player does not have an established GHIN handicap, the Committee will determine the initial quota by working with the Head Pro and other references to deem a fair initial quota.

The score for the week will be found by subtracting that weeks quota from the point total. For example, in week one, the golfer in the example above with an initial quota of 24 scores 1 birdie (4 pts), 11 pars (22 pts), 4 bogey's (4 pts), and 2 double bogeys (0 pts). His point total would be 30 for that week . . . 4+22+4+0=30.  His score for that week would be +6 (30-24= +6).

The quota will be updated weekly. In the example above for the golfer with an initial quota of 24 and a point total of 30 for week one, the quota would be updated to 27 for week two (24 + 30 = 54. 54 divided by 2 weeks played = 27). This process will be repeated each week that the golfer participates.  This format makes it very difficult to sandbag because it is an average of ALL scores.  Also, this format helps pace of play because once you have a double bogey you can pick up and move to the next hole.

We will be keeping track of point totals and quotas for you and posting it to the website, so just check the website for the updates.  We will also send out a weekly email to League participants with updated point totals and quotas.

General Rules
USGA rules will govern all play unless a local rule is adopted. The ball will be played down unless a local rule is adopted for that day. If there is discrepancy about a rule, please play two balls and the Committee will determine the ruling after play.

The Committee will determine the appropriate tee box for each golfer to play. A golfer is not allowed to move tee boxes unless approved by the Committee.

All putts inside the leather are good. If it is outside the leather you need to putt it.

If there is a tie for a certain place, point totals will be added and divided amongst the tied players. For example: If two players tie for 2nd place each golfer will be awarded 7 points. All golfers tied for 5th place will receive 2 points.

Note: Please keep both your hole score and quota points on the same scorecard. For example: If you par a Par 5 you should record your score in this format 5/2. Please keep all other games on a separate scorecard.

The minimum number of players for an official league is 6 players completing 18 holes.
Inclement weather: The Golf Club at Falcon Lakes will determine if play is suspended or canceled due to weather.

** Anyone deemed by the Committee to be compromising the spirit of the game and the League will forfeit his opportunity to play in the League. All-in-all this should be a fun time and a great way to meet some good guys and play a great golf course.

The Committee reserves the right to review and make changes to the League as necessary.
