Monday and Tuesday we will be aerifying the greens. This is a necessary process that allows better air circulation, releaves compaction, improves drainage and allows for better root growth. This will be done once in the spring and once in the fall. We first aerify the green and remove all of the soil plugs. The holes are 1/2 inch in diameter and 3 1/2 inches deep. After the holes are open we will add sand to the green and brush it back in the holes (for all the greens we will use around 45-60 tons of sand.) After that we will fertilize the green, roll the surface to get all the bumps out and water everything in. The F9 was completed on Monday and is ready for golf on Tuesday.
